If you are a leader, someone that God has placed in a position of influence, you have people following you. You are helping them move toward a vision, a desired outcome for their lives, or the impact of your ministry organization.
If you are anything like me and most other ministry leaders, you are focused on how you can move things forward. But, we struggle to keep all the plates spinning and the pressure seems to increase the close we slide to December.
This is one of the most important things I could ever share with you. I’ve noticed that most leaders hate the idea of having to ask people for money.
While there are a few folks who have chosen “fundraising” as their profession, most leaders, if they are honest would choose to move the work of raising money off their plate if they could.
God has placed numerous people around you, in your community, that could have a tremendous impact on the vision for your ministry.
So, why aren’t they?
I frequently receive calls from leaders asking for input on their annual fund letters. The questions usually center around the tactics of letter writing, subject lines, social networking, and email blasts. While taking specific steps to ask for annual giving is important, it’s not what ultimately determines your success in raising funds for your ministry.
