If you are a leader, someone that God has placed in a position of influence, you have people following you. You are helping them move toward a vision, a desired outcome for their lives, or the impact of your ministry organization.
I love the way Mark Miller, defines this primary role of leaders as “to see and shape the future.”
If that’s true, you weren’t created to sit in your office and email, managing people by moving bits of information around. You were created, called, and are being equipped by God to influence others to see the vision, engage in it, and invest in it.
But, the bad news is that having the vision is often the easy part. It’s moving people forward that is the hard part. Maybe you need others to buy in, or bring their talent and ideas to the table? Maybe you need people to give generously and invest in a way that takes your ministry organization to the next level? Maybe you need people to start working together more effectively and stay out of the day to day weeds or reacting to every little issue?
In this video I outline the basic steps you need to take to demystify your vision so people can move you forward.
